Made in Adana – A Cooking Journey
Living in a foreign country can be a culinary adventure. There are so many new foods to enjoy, but after a while, one misses the tastes of home. It’s easy to focus on what can’t be obtained, but the “Made In Adana” recipe series is designed to focus on what CAN be done with ingredients purchased locally; hence foods that have been Made and enjoyed in Adana.
There’s a book out there called the “I Need Help in Turkey Cookbook.” It’s a cookbook compiled by American folks who’ve lived in Turkey and have needed to get creative when it comes to cooking with locally available ingredients. Many friends of mine have a copy of this book, but don’t believe I’ve seen an original. In fact, to my shame, the edition that we have is a photocopied version.
I’ve contacted the author and hope to have the book available for download here soon. For now you’ll just have to enjoy the recipes that I post. Below is a list of the dishes I’ve made.
